Wouldn't that be nice, April Fools!
Yea and they would all be mono and half would mirror the other half.

How about if they were all shopping Audio channels :D

No actually, I heard they were going to combine space to offer new channels!
All the mono channels would be made into stereo channels, to hear the channel you wanted you would have to adjust the balance from left to right to select the mono channel you really want to hear.
This should open enough space for at least 15 new mono channels.
April fools.

I do wish they would put on a few radio stations like WGN etc. That would be nice.

Dish could start their own audio channel line-up like xm radio has.

Anyone know why Dish coulndn't offer an XM style receiver for the car to pick up the Dish music channels?

I wouldn't want to hear Mono Channels in my Car.

I was talking about a market for the home to start out and then they could expand it to the car later on. They could make them in stereo sound.

Just get XM if you want Audio channels in your car. :)

If Dish were to start marketing such a thing as that then it probably would not be as good as XM anyways, it would probably be cheap. That would be a good way for them to diversify though to doing things such as radio satellite, two way internet, etc.

They would need much more powerfull satellites in order to broadcast to cars.
The XM and Sirius satellites are more powerfull then all the Echostar satellites combined. (This is why you can get XM with a small inteanna and don't need a dish on your car) :)

Yes but it does not take nearly as much bandwidth to have a lot of music channels on the satellies. Why dont Echostar have much more powerful satellites to broadcast video using the same thing xm does with a whip antenna? People could then travel around with a small tv watching a number of channels even while they are on the road. I know that they tried something like this not that long ago.

The simple reason is because the FCC does not permit Dish to broadcast at high power. :)

Then why let XM broadcast at high power? Perhaps XM or another company could start up a new service to offer wireless video.
