By all accounts the vaunted, elite, highly trained, loyal, (insert adjective here) Republican Guard units are getting pretty well pasted.

They even said the Baghdad division has been destroyed. Destroying an entire division? What does that mean? Half dead and half ran away?

Anyways... Iraqi's best are falling back under heavy losses to US ground forces, at least the ones who didn't eat air force or navy bombs yet. Karbala has fallen to the army and by most accounts the residents are smiling and having smokes with our soldiers, the USMC has taken Kut, the 101st is rapidly catching up to jump in the fray from southwest of Baghdad, and the Air Mobility Command is working 24/7 to lift tanks and troops into Northern Iraq.

So what's going to happen with Baghdad? We're about 20 miles from it, are we going to rush in or lay siege and work with precision strikes against leadership? Will we wait for the 4th mech to arrive?

Things are about to get really interesting.

Actually they now believe 2 divisions have been destroyed. Destroyed probably means that they have no equipment left. All the tanks/artillery/APCs/etc has been destroyed. The Air Force has unveiled a new surprise for the Iraqis. A new type of cluster bomb that can pierce tanks has been dropped all over them by B52s for days on end.

Some of that video was absolutely unbelievable as a formation of B52 flew over dropping bombs so fast that one has to wonder how they got so many bombs in the planes. Of course there are probably survivors left, but without the equipment they are just lone gunman with an AK47 against tanks.
