I won't go so far as to say Quebec does not represent Canadians. All provinces and their people represent Canada. However, they certainly have very strong ideological differences with the rest of the country. That said, I can't help but believe underlying Quebec sentiment stems less from supporting the federal government's stance as much as it does supporting the French (as in France.) Quebec's proximity to the US allows many Quebecers to experience America's french backlash in a way they can't in France. Quebecois believe their culture makes them unique from both Canada and France but make no mistake, their french heritage is taken VERY seriously in that province. And while Americans are bashing France for their stance, its possible many in Quebec are taking it as an ethnic backlash or against their heritage. I wouldn't mind hearing some thoughts from some Quebecers on this.

I don't care about their stance on the war or anything else. Why take it out on 13 year old kids?

I really hate to see how so many Canadians think they're better than Americans, or commit hate acts such as this, yet they cross the border in droves every single day. Not to mention many of them who come here on TN visas to work, or run across the border to have US Citizen children. Or what about the tons of snowbirds that rush down to Florida every winter.
Maybe we should close the border, require visas from ALL Canadians and put and end to NAFTA.
They burn our flag, we close our borders. I think that's fair.
