I have a handful of SWMLine LNBs for sale. Each comes with PI and splitter of your choice. Perfect for DIY installs, upgrades or non qualifying orders.

Note: this is the LNB only, not the dish.

Nope, AT9 has a different geometry than the Slimline.

Indeed you'd have to upgrade the whole dish. Mast is the same though so in all not too hard a job.

I'm all confused again :(
what is benefit of this LNB? is this the one that is a replacement for the swm module that is inserted after the dish?

This can indeed replace a SWM8 switch though it only has 1 output. So if you use a SWM8 with two outputs for different sides of the house you're better off with a SWM8 switch.
But if your residence has all home runs to one location this is perfect.

right now I am just a standard lnb with 2 runs going to 2 rooms and I have wb616 switch.
I'd like to add more rooms but don't want to feed 2 runs to each, was wondering if this lnb served that purpose.

Having one of these now replacing my SWM8, I'd say the only difference is this doesn't have the legacy ports. I used both of the SWM8 outputs and simply have a 2-way splitter now where the SWM8 was.

How many tuners do you have in total? This LNB supports up to 8 tuners. Since you have a WB616 you might be out of luck. You might be able to cascade a SWM8 switch off the 616 though?

right now just 4 tuners but planning on adding 4 more in next 2-3 months. getting rid of the 616 would not be an issue if this lnb greatly simplified things.
probably better off leaving things as they are I guess, I can run 2 runs to each new location but its a pain.

If you have no need for more than 8 tuners and you dont mind paying the price, no reason not to in my mind. Removes one more point of failure (the WB616) and gives you more flexibility with running the lines.

I'm way behind on this technology, was this thw one that did not allow an OTA to be diplexed in midstream?
I'm trying to get a plan together for when I do this around Dec-Jan. prior planning prevents more time spent in -30 weather :)
as far as single point of failure, with the 616 I can easily bypass that but if this type lnb fails it drops ALL outputs right? it would not kill 1 output and leave 7 running would it? again, just wondering about relability and quick repair scenarios.
sorry for the questions, I am WAY behind on these.

SWM8 switches do allow OTA diplexing although not supported by D*.
This LNB does not allow it though

You can still diplex with external diplexers though. That is what I plan on eventually doing.

About failure...with a WB616 setup you have the Multiswitch/LNB on the Dish and the WB616, so 2 points of failure. With the SWMLNB you just have the SWM/LNB, so 1 point of failure.

does that 1 point take everything down though? with present lnb I still have some use if it goes bad, does this one act the same?
I have large ice and snow damages to watch for up here.

In all honestly I would not worry about it too much, regular LNB vs. SWMLNB. Both should be very reliable.

The regular LNB can make the whole system go down as well when it goes bad, but it is still a fairly rare event.

I've recently had switch issue with lnb and lost 1 tuner, was able to live with it a few days until I swapped it out.
was hoping this lnb acted same way.

I take it the only solution for me is the SWM-8 (already ordered but would not mine a cleaner install) since I need the flex port for sat 95.
