Well I have done surcahing and I have some questions

My wife is going to have surgery and I was going to put a my HR 20 in the bed room for her during her recovery.

The issue I have is I only have one RG6 and can't really add another.

I looked and SWM-8 would do the trick but the web site says I need w/.2042 Firmware Update

How do I tell if I have this. Also if I switch to this switch will my Direct Tivo still work?

Thanks

You have the proper firmware I am sure as there has been quite a few national rollouts since that version. You can always force an updated to the latest version if needed as well.

The Directivo would have to be run from the legacy ports on the SWM-8, but would still work just fine. It will not work with the SWMLine LNB (instead of the SWM-8 Module) as the SWMLine LNB does not have legacy ports.

You could also just hook it up with one line... Two lines are not a requirement... She will just only the able to watch or record one program at a time...

And here's to hoping your wife has a speedy recovery! :)

I recently purchased a SWM-8 off of eBay for $100, and it works well.
