View Full Version : DP Twin with a DP34
Has anyone had experienced failures/flakiness after connecting a DP Twin to a DP34? I've heard that some local Dish installers are recommending using DP Single LNBs with the DP34 (instead of the DP twin). They claim that there are some reliability issues when connecting a DP Twin to a DP34. Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't heard of that. I have had a few bad DP twins (more than legacy) but not an alarming number. I must admit I have only connected up a handful of twin/DP34 combinations.
My DP twin and single into a DP34 are working just fine.
I have not had any problems with the combination. We did one today with two DP adapters for legacy receivers. I also have had a few DP twins that had problems but nothing of consequence.
I've had a DP twin feeding into a DP34 to run a 501 and 721 since January with no problem. In fact, my signal strength got better and the switch tests run faster.
When I upgraded, I was able to run 2 cables from the dish all the way to my basement, where I installed the DP34. I figured that it would last longer out of the elements and be more accessible if I ever have to replace it or add receivers (another 721 or a 921).

That is how I do most installs, since we are not allowed to install the 2nd dish, I find it easier to have it ready for DNSC. This way there is a much less chance of a screwup
