View Full Version : Why does Directv keep calling??
Maybe others have been getting these calls. I work until late or have things to do in the evenings.. Every day for the last three weeks, I get home and there are at least 2-4 calls a day from an 866 number, which I've searched on the net and shows up as Directv sales.. I am loaded with receivers and movie channels.. Of course, they never leave a voicemail. Any ideas what they want? anyone else getting the calls?
I love the service.. but not sure what is so important :)
if anyone has actually gotten to the phone in time.. let me know what they are looking for or tell me.. :)

I have a feeling this (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=137869) may be why they are calling.

Not sure how I missed that thread.. read the site 10 times a day :)
I called Directv and got a nice guy.. Told him the number calls me 2-4 times a day over the past week..
He asked me for the number that was calling me.. and put me on hold. He came back and said it was their contracted call center offering me premier w/nfl sunday ticket and superfan for 74.99 a month for 4 months.. said it would save me 15 a month from what I have now and give me the rest of the movie channels.. he asked if I wanted to sign up for the deal..hmm
So, yes, I took the offer and asked him to tell them to stop calling me now. .he said they will :)

verify your dvr fees, they are not included. a post this week about this deal mentioned that.

I added them up.. I had HD/DVR package for 72.99.. plus showtime and starz for another 23.00.. Total - 95.99.. (plus other receivers.. etc).. This deal was 74.99 plus 9.99 and 5.99.. so.. 90.97.. so.. worked for me..
Logged in online and all loosk good.. I am one who will gripe if not :)

I'm assuming if you have a grandfathered TC+ package and accept their offer, after 4 months, you can't go back to TC+... So, save $5 a month for 4 months, then pay $3 a month more after that forever ???

No.. I have the 72.99 HD+DVR package.. still an available package.. The only reason I grabbed it is I have two movies channels , so the free premier.. plus the DVR and HD fee, is cheaper than what I'm paying for HD+DVR and the two channels.. so.. 5 bucks less for the next four month I get the rest of the premuim channels and Sunday Ticket/Superfan..
In 4 months, I'll probably go back to what I had.. UNless HBO or Skinamax have some good movies/series..

It's too early and coffee hasn't kicked in. Yes, from what I've read, I presume if you have an ghrandfathered package, I doubt they will give it back to you.. since your base package changes to a zero dollar premier..
