I was in the PVR screen, reviewing the list of previously recorded items. Two timers were currently active/recording. The red recording dot was displayed next to the active timers. One of the timers finished, and the red dot disappeared, so I went in into the recorded show to protect it.
The buttons available for selection did not include the" Protect" button; it was missing! The 721 only showed the buttons that you would see for an active recording timer, not for a completed timer.
Cancelling all the way out back to live TV mode, then back in to the recorded show screen corrected the problem; the "Protect" button was back.
