Lets imagine new sats suddnly became available with 10 times more power. Dish size now down to 4 inches.
Would aiming multislot dishes be harder, easier or the same?
Through away the dish and point the LNBF at the satellite. :)

The dish would be about the size of the lnbf. Perhaps if it was 8 or 10 inches it would still be needed. If they were that powerful I would be afraid of the affects the microwaves may have on people. Ultimately a whip antenna would replace the dish if that were the case I would think, or just as JohnH said, you would just point the lnbf at the satellite as it concaves on the inside like a dish does to collect the signal even furter.
The new Rainbow service by Cablevision that is launching by the end of the year is going to have a 13 inch dish because of higher powered satellites. Since people can use a 15 inch dish instead of an 18 inch dish with Directv or Dish Network I imagine one could do the same with the 13 inch dish and perhaps go down to 10-12 inches. I think for every inch smaller you would get on the smaller dish it would make a lot bigger difference than it would on a bigger dish.
I wonder how small an array would be for a 13 inch dish seeing how small they are for an 18 inch dish. I thought I heard it was 10 inches in size, a third smaller than that would be 6 or 7 inches, getting pretty small.
