Is there a way to connect to satellites at 4 slots (61.5, 148, 110 and 119) with a Model 6000? If so, how do you do it? Wiring schematics? What will happen to channels using the same channel number on 61.5 and 148?

Ron welcome to DBSTalk.COM :hi:
It CAN be done! Claude Grainer has this very setup. You may want to do a search for Claude Grainers messages and see if you can find the one explaining on how he hooked this up. :)
It takes some work, but works well when everything is done.

You need at least 3 dual LNBs (NOT a Twin LNB) and single LNB (or 4 dual LNBs), an SW64 and an SW21.
Hook up three dual LNBs (110, 119 and either 61.5 or 148) to the SW64.
Hook up output one of the SW64 to the power inserter required for this switch and plug it in. You can use the output of the power inserter for a 3 satellite receiver.
Hook up output 2, 3 or 4 to one input of the SW21.
Hook up the single LNB (148 or 61.5) or one leg of the 4th dual LNB to the second input of the SW21.
Hook up the output of the SW21 to the 6000 receiver.
Run a switch check and hope for the best! :)
This is fairly stable, but it requires everything is working juuuuussst right.

www.switchinfo.info is an excellent site. Here's a schematic a a 4 sat/4 ird set up.

AHHHHH.... I see...the power inserter goes in BEFORE the SW21. I was wondering how those that insisted they were using output one from the SW64 could do it without causing problems on the SW64.

Before doing the switch check, one needs to select 129 west install.
The duplicate channel numbers will showup twice but will not cause a problem.

JohnH is correct here but let me add that you have to check the 129 Sat box before you can check the 129 Install box.
This is what allows the rcvr to do the 50 point switch test that is required for a 4-sat set-up.
Channels common to both 61.5 & 148 will be duplicated in the guide but the rcvr will default to the feed from 61.5. You will not have a problem using the EPG to select channels but you will not be able to "channel down" with the \/ button thru a duplicate feed.

Why need to waist dish/cable/switch for duplicating channels from 61.5/148 ?

If someone has locals or can get KCBS DT on 148 and also wants Sky Angel and/or the HD demo channel
Maybe wants CBS HD east and west. Or locals on 148 and Sky Angel on 61.5. Or Radio Maria or...........
