Dish Retailer "Team Summit" sells out!

Echostar is reporting that this years "Team Summit" is now sold out.

The Team Summit is Echostar's annual retailer retreat, where retailers get to mingle with the Echostar staff, to learn new skills and see new equipment.

This years Team Summit was highly controversial as its keynote speaker is scheduled to be former President Clinton. The Team Summit will also feature nights with Dennis Miller and Zig Ziglar.

The Team Summit will feature workshops for dealers to attend, among the interesting looking workshops include...Extreme HD
What's all the hype about HDTV? This course will go behind the scenes to tell you all about HDTV, the interfaces available from the receiver to the TV and what DISH Network is offering this year in HD products and programming.

Two Tuners Part 1 - The Installation Experience
Take advantage of the new Dish322 and DishPVR 522 two-tuner, independent viewing technology. Discussion items will include the Agile UHF modulator set-up and home distribution systems.

I was invited to attend the Team Summit by a few retailers but unfortunately money is tight so I will be staying home.

If they did good enough to sell out this year then how come were they contacting lots of retailers that never got calls before from Dish asking them if they wanted to join? Maybe this is how they sold out, getting just the extra members needed for the event this year.

I was going to go, but passed on it at the last moment. I spent the $$ on something else, which I will explain sometime next month.

Scott, while you are there, please ask how they expect to sell HD programming if there is no HD receiver currently in production. Also ask why they will only be offering LA/NY distant nets in the near future.

Perhaps they will show the single dish and switch solutions for the 110/119/121 satellite slots.

Why is having a former President of the United States a "highly controversial" speaker?
