View Full Version : Local installers - York, PA
Anyone have any experience with the local Direct TV installers in the York, PA area? I'm in zip 17362 if that matters, about 10 miles west of York city.
Thanks!

If you're that far west of York (closer to Hanover) you may try Cranberry Electronics in Westminster... not sure if they go up that way, but they're top notch in my book. Did my install and I'm very satisfied. Give 'em a call.
Thanks for the info. I'm actually in Westminster often so maybe I'll stop by and chat. Can I order items, and receive the same deals, through them or is it best to purchase the items through Direct TV?

I got the same deals that DirecTV was offering at the time through them directly... didn't have to deal with DirecTV at all. At the time that entailed $199 per DVR and I think $30 off per month for the first year.

Bixler,
I live in West York, PA and had a install in June ( because D* told me that i cant install it myself) the guy that showed up was a sub contractor from Harrisburg..... to put it in a nice way, he was a complete idiot... didn't speak English, and ended up with a supervisor here to do my install by days end..
with this experiance, i decided that all work done on my system will be done by me... so, in august when the wife told me we had to upgrade to HD for football season:eek2: i just bought my slimline dish and rec. myself and did my own upgrade (BIG thanks to all the helping hands on this forum).... since then i have done 5 installs for family members and close friends.
My personal recomendation would be to buy your own stuff and to a self install.... but, thats just me... heck, if you do choose to do a self install, im only 10 mins away if u need and help... :hurah:
What's your number and how much do you charge? :hurah:
I just spoke to someone tonight at Freedom Wireless by the Gallaria and I think the only difference from your guy was that he spoke English! He knew nothing about SWM, said I needed phone lines, etc etc.

OK just wanted to clear something up , not that I like this ,but there is a Freedom Wireless INC, and there is Freedom wireless of PA inc. << this is us,
now I realise you allready have everything installed but just for my sake, I think you were inquiring about a DIRECTV single wire stacked multi-switch ,wich
Divides the SWM output signal to multiple coax cables while passing receiver control signals from the receiver to the switch.
All ports DC pass
Heavy duty housing.
Compatible with SWM DirecTV Multiswitch
anyway I feal better now allthough Im sure you may have spoke to the other Freedom Wireless
