I'm watching that favorite left wing channel (and probably Michael Moore's favorite channel), Free Speech TeeVee. So far, I saw a tail end of a Travis AFB bases where they blocked and chained themselves to a military transport truck (including a guy who says that he has a hatchet and will be glad to chop the guys arm off and parents at the police station supporting her son protest)

This was followed by an Austin, Texas rally where there are cuts between the protestors and the police reading off a note about the protest being an "unlawful assembly" interspersed with the protesters saying that they are exercising their free speech rights. This was followed by the police using tear gas, and protesters decrying the police's use of tear gas as chemical weapons.

Finally, we have a Fort Collins, CO protest where a person is sitting on her sling, saying "We choose to break the law because we wanted to gain as much attention as we could in a non-violent way, and to show other people in this town that, ah, you know you can stand up for what you believe in. I... I... I know we all here do, but I wish that everyere here who saw us who had any question about the war at all or any slightest nibbling of question. I mean I would love it if every person did, but if any person who had the slightest question would go beyond mainstream media to find out what was going on because I don't believe people know what's going on." There were also the chants of "Support Our Troops, Bring Them Home."

This was followed by the slate called Take Action Now which had these guidelines:

1) Educate and agitate for peace.
2) Make your city a "City for Peace" and a "Civil Liberties Safe Zone".
3) Stop immigration law enforcement abuses and human rights violations.
4) Learn about national peace groups coordinating actions to stop the war.
5) Tell your friends and family about independent media like Free Speech TV!

Out of fairness, the video footage was from protests in late March. (Two dates were March 20th and March 25th).

Added: Okay, this was followed by a March 27th coverage of a protest in New York City by "Anti-War Activists gathered by Rockefeller Center to disrupt business as usual. The targets were the profiteers of war and biased media.... One point which stands out is the conspicuous placement of undercover pro-war agitators mingled in with the protestors." They then showed the tape of people laying in the street.

That, folks, was just a brief snippet of the so-called "independent media" like Free Speech TV. Media? Yes. Independent? Hardly. Biased? Definately.

I pity the poor police departments, but I have no sympathy for the protestors, especially with some of their antics.

Is the media biased? Yes, that point has been debated many times before, either to the left. I disagree with the chant, "CNN, NBC, get out of bed with the military."

These so-called "peace activists" need to be arrested, forced to view hundreds of hours of film and photos of the victims of despots like Hitler, Pol Pot, etc., and then listen to hundreds of hours of first person testimonials by survivors. Drugs should be administered to keep their attention and keep them from ignoring it.

After they've seen what happens, they should then have their citizenship suspended and be deported immediately to whatever third world sh*thole is worst and under the most brutal dictator at the moment(that we haven't neutralized yet) and put into one of that monster's prisons.

They can have their citizenship back AFTER and IF they escape to the US mainland. If not, oh well. It would make very telling and educational television for anyone else considering propping up such b*stards and I have little doubt many of the survivors of brutal regimes around the planet would be all in favor of it.

That alone tells you how out of touch the protesters are and how little they know of the suffering of the common folk who live beneath the boot of tyrants. As if screaming about them being censored so loud and long they get laryngitis, and claiming conspiracies on the part of a government that can't keep the highways running corrently, and living in relative luxury the way people who don't tend to protest don't wasn't enough.

There was a thread a while back when I asked about FSTV. Apparently they get a discounted rate siince they are a "public service" channel. That and the gov't requries a certain percentage of channels to be public service.

I have no problem with the channel being there at all- as long as they tell the truth of it. This is as much a public service channel as "DDTV" David Duke TV- 'You give us a cross, we'll give you light'

But hey, it's a great channel for a good round of chuckles. I remember a great episode showing the pro pot protesters in Santa Cruz. Quite funny.
