R15 Stuck At Bootup Blue Screen

All of a sudden my R15 started rebooting itself for no reason. The first couple of times it rebooted and went through the blue screen where it will say checking disk up to 30 mins but after a couple of mins going through the reboot process everything was ok. Now it just reboots and stays on the blue screen/checking disk page for the full 30 mins then the R15 shuts down and repeats the process again. I tried hitting the red rest button but that didn't do nothing. I also tried unplugging the dvr and plugging it back in but no luck. It just goes right back to the blue screen. Any suggestions? Is there a way to reformat the unit?

Sounds like it's ERP time if you can't get to the menu to do a reformat.

There is (or was) a front panel button sequence to do a reformat. Start with a reset (red button or menu). When the very first blue screen appears, wait for it to go away (turn black). Then push and hold the down arrow and the record button. Hold them for at least five seconds. The record light should come on. Release the two buttons and wait.

Whoa! Five seconds won't do. Try 15 seconds or longer!! :D
