Have had a problem of sound dropping out when set to Dolby. Working with Directv since May without success. No need to discuss details. The new info is that I just received a new 22-100 which has a coax out for digital sound. Other boxes only had optical. The new box had the same problem as in the past when using the optical. Switching to the coax out has solved the problem. Hope this helps others.

Those must have been the original HR20-700.

I have the HR20-700 and use the optical digital output to headphones. I haven't had any problems with it. I'm saying this to let some know it isn't with all of them - and not to get a dig in on those having problems. Believe me, I've had my share of problems with the HR20, just not this one.
