WOW! This is really interesting. Maybe our calls to Dish to do something about the Dishplayer is finally showing results.
---------------------------------------------

Littleton's EchoStar Corp. filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit Thursday against Microsoft's WebTV Network, alleging the Internet video programmer has forsaken EchoStar as a partner to join forces with satellite-TV rival DirecTV.

EchoStar's complaint accuses WebTV of refusing to provide software upgrades and support for Dish customers and turning its attention instead to market a more advanced product called Ultimate TV for DirecTV subscribers.

Isn't the problem more with Microsoft? That's who Charlie blames everytime it comes up on the chats...

Microsoft owns Webtv, so that is who Charlie is suing. I love how Charlie has to blame everyone but himself. If I had an organization, and my company had their logo on the machine, and were the go to people if their was something wrong with it, I would make damn sure that this machine worked, and worked well. That is something that Charlie has never seem to try and do.

Word over at the "other" DBS Forum is that this has more to do with the DirecTV merger decision today. One opinion is that Charlie is exercising his option of panic-stricken spoiler at the liklihood of News Corp. getting the nod.
