View Full Version : Do you see video freeze/pause while audio continues OK?

I, along with a number of others have posted about issues with ESPN and ESPN2 HD channels where the video will freeze/pause for a second while the audio continues without any problems. Since NFL Sunday Ticket/Superfan has started I've also noticed this on when watching some of the Sunday Ticket/Superfan channels.

Normally I watch this on my HR21-100 which is connected to my larger HD set but today I also recorded the game on both the HR21 and a HD20-700. Watching the game on the HR21-100 I saw some of these video pauses on the Vikings/Bears game that I had recorded. I noted the times of these pauses and then went to the HR20 and watched at those same clock times, and I didn't see the freeze/pause.

So I thought I might be worth doing a poll to see what models are and aren't see in the freeze/pause of the video while the audio continues with no problem.

Haven't seen it on my HR20-700 (watched Superfan all day today), HR21-100 (watch a lot of ESPN on) or my HR21-700 (don't use it as much for those items).

Watched alot of ESPN/ESPN2 Saturday, with no issues.

I voted HR21-100, I have three of these units, so one issue per account, but three receivers and all have the same problem. When I was on the phone with technical a few weeks ago and they seen the same freezing issue, they had an HR22 receiver.

I watched NFL Sunday ticket all day yesterday, no problems here.

I have seen it, but it's very rare(maybe twice in the last 6 months) on random channels.

I noticed this during the 3rd qtr. of the Giants-49ers game. The best way I can describe it is the moving images seem to stutter rather than natural movement. Would this possibly be a hard drive issue? I briefly paused the action then resumed play and that resolved the the problem. I will have to see if this reoccurs.
