have owned the sony satw60 (ultimatetv receiver) with directv for over a year now...I love it...however...the unit is now starting to make clicking noises and the 30sec jump button and other features have slowed down...something is amiss...any similar problems out there? and what to do...thanks, micky

I don't know if I'm the guy, but have you tried something as simple as unplugging the unit for an hour and then re-starting it up? You'll lose the guide data - will take an day or two to reload the full two week's worth. Sometimes - like other MS products - it just needs to be reset. That usually restores the speed of the functions.

there are some hard reset codes that you could use to force a reset ... but a couple of questions?

1. is the speed the same on your keyboard as on your remote?
2. is the unit ventilated well? If not, your hard drive may be overheating

In the PC world, hard drive clicking means imminent disaster ... time to sign up for the DTV insurance plan ($4 a month but they replace the unit if the hard drive goes bye bye).
