View Full Version : Did the software update totally break my HR21?

So I have a replacement HR21-200 I got yesterday after my HR21 died. Tonight I come home from dinner, and the box is totally dead. If I unplug it and plug it in, the front light comes on for 2 seconds, then goes away.

I just called Directv, and some Tech Support supervisor named Dustin, in a very rude manner, told me that because of the software update, they won't replace my unit until tomorrow.

I think he's full of garbage, since software update shouldn't cause this box to not power on.

Is he right?

Un plug it and wait 2-3 minutes and try it again

Try leaving it unplugged for about 10-15 minutes, and then try plugging it in again.

Don't know why, but sometimes (actually oftentimes) that works.

I was shocked to go back into my room and the REC light was on.

Amazing.

That Jared was really a dick on the phone. His boss is getting a call tomorrow.

I once left an R15 unplugged for 2 hours after 1 hour didn't work, and all was well :D
