I would like to know what recommendations people have on an outdoor enclosure which would work for the SWM8. I am installing an SWM8 at my house and would like to mount the SWM8 outdoors closer to the antenna.
Thank you.

There have been some past threads on this topic, this is one of them.

It is made to be mounted outside, so dont worry about it.
If you really must have an enclosure, be careful and make sure to have plenty of vent holes as the SWM is air cooled and will run extremely hot if enclosed in a box.

Okay, that good to know. Is there anything special I need to do to seal the connectors on the RG6 cable?
Dielectric silicone grease and/or weather boots might be a good idea. Most prefer the grease as the boots can potentially lock moisture in as well.

Dielectric silicone grease
and this is available from any auto parts store like NAPA or Autozone if you have one in your area...

You'd be much better off using coax sealing rings such as these - MUCH neater & easier to use & they do keep the water out. Most cable companies use these on outside coax connections, so you'd think they would do the job:

And I do agree that there is no need to put it in a housing, as long as you weatherproof the connections, you should be good to go...
The major problem with those rings is that they tend to have potential for a bit of moisture to get in, then it gets trapped, and finally rusts or degrades the connection. That is why grease is preferred as it actually coats the components and keeps the water and moisture away from them.
Yes many companies do use them and lots of installs have them, but if you have the option go with the grease.

that is much better than the PPC branded one that I got from a local installer. that seals more around compared to the PPC which when compressed, it creates small pockets between the seal and the F connector.
so what I did was use the one pictured above but before putting it in, I greased it a little bit inside and little grease on the F connector.
