After finally giving up on getting WMP11 to media share with my HR-20 someone else recommended I give Tversity a shot.

It actually works rather well but a couple questions
Fist off one of the vids I have is a file of a buffy episode in mpg format but not via tversity. It plays in wmp11 and if I pull up properties in WMP it says:

Audio Codec: ffdshow Audio decoder
Video Codec: MPEG Video Decode

Here is the info when I use another program to see the exact properties of the file:
Duration: 00:50:25
Bit Rate: 1395kbps
Video:
Format: mpeg1video
Size: 352x240
Frame rate: 29.97fps
Audio:
Format: mp2
Bit rate: 224kbps
Sample rate: 44100Hz
Channels: stereo
Anyway in versity it fails to play, what settings should I change in it so the file will play. Right now I have Tversity set up with default settings.

The other thing is I have some Atsc HD DVR-MS files I'd like to be able to play using TVersity without having to use other programs and converting the files first what should I set tversity to so I can play them as well? . I'd ask in TVersitys forums but still waiting for an account activation email so I can post there and since I know we have a lot of smart ppl here I really hope someone can help me.

A very basic question here, but under Settings did you set TVersity to Transcode Always?

set to only when needed

Durl wins - you said it was MPEG1 so TVersity thinks it doesn't need to transcode it but the HR2x's can't really play MPEG1. Setting it to transcode always should fix it. You can set it on just that file instead of the global setting - depending on how you added it to the server.

well It was just found when I added the folder it was in. I can't figure out how you would set transcode for jus that file.

Would setting the transcode to "always" allow Tverstiy to play .VOB files?

Thanks!

Am now using trans all option but even before when I had "Only when needed" selected it was showing VOB's that were on my hd with no problem

What software do you use to create the VOBs?
