Last night all my DirecTV DVRs reset and installed new firmware.

I read about DirecTV2PC and followed a link to install the adviser software.

My PC failed the video driver test, and video adapter reported unknown. I downloaded the DirecTV2PC software anyway, provided name and email and got an activation number.

The software installed, but had firewall issues streaming content. These were resolved by setting a rule allowing my DVRs to connect to my PC without being rejected by the firewall.

Initially streams were very bad, something like static was on the screen. Uniform static, but still static. Sound didn't work.

My PC has an integrated video adapter, I set the resolution bit depth from 32 to 16 bits, and rebooted my PC.

Streaming has worked since without any problem.

I do not have any beta firmware installed on my DVRs, but do apparently have the beta DirecTV2PC software.

A notice came up on all DVRs about 1080P, and other "new" features. Under Network I see something about a STB configuration. I'm not sure what that is about, if anyone knows, please post about it.

Streaming looks lifelike, occasionally every 10-20 minutes there seems to be a quarter second jerk. Other than that it is very similar to viewing on the TV.

I've just started playing around with Directv2pc and I must say it is playing
flawlessly. I failed;
1.CPU
2.CPU Hardware acceleration
3.Graphics Card Driver
I also got "unknown" for Graphics Card which is a piece of crap
ati x300 on this two or 3 year old computer
So far not a problem. Im loving this :righton:
