I have had a Free-Agent Pro e-sata connected to my HR20 for about a year and the DVR suddenly stopped recognizing it. I did the usual unplugging and plugging of the esata cable and power cord and all that is showing up is the programming recorded on the hard drive of the DVR. The esata drive is lit up and the esata cable does not appear to be damaged. Any suggestions for fixing this?

I have a second one that is working fine.

Mine was wiped clean yesterday after the software update. No idea why.... Good luck.

Did you let the FAP have several seconds to spin up-to-speed *before* restoring power to the HR20?
(If you know to try this already, sorry for belaboring the obvious, but many folks don't know to do that.)

After D* software update, had the same issue. Previous experience taught me:
1) Unplug receiver
2) Unplug FAP
3) Wait 30-60 seconds
4) Plug FAP, Press Power On (crappy switch IMHO)
5) Plug receiver
6) Go have a beer and a smoke, when you come back, all will be fine = All recordings and schedule, Favorite channels, etc.
