We just bought a new RV that came with a Single LNB. Our Locals come out of Santa Barbara Ca. and I know the SD locals come off of 119. Would a H-21 out of my house work or am I better off buying a D-12. Down the road I may upgrade to a 5-LNB and at that point I know the H-21 will work just fine.

That single LNB (dual output) will only receive the 101 satellite. Any receiver will work as long as you select the proper dish during setup.

Once you go to the 5LNB, you'll still have to be under your local's spot beam to receive them.

Any receiver should work fine as jdspencer said. With 101 you will still get all the main SD National programming channels as 101 is the main SD satellite.

If the H-21 is set up for a 5-LNB will it work as is or will I have to reset it up for a single LNB. My wife only uses it on a SD TV.

You can use it as is. Any channels not on 101 will get a Searching for Satellite message. I do this all the time with my H20. I use an 18" dish for camping. Just make sure to unhide the SD duplicates.

I use mine on a H20-600. You need to get the RV waiver for SD DNS so you can get networks when not under your locals spotbeam. I have a Slimline 5LNB that I set up thru the coach cable connection if I want HD. Winegard is now making a crankup dish for HD but it's kinds pricey.
