I'm switching from cable to Dish Network tv. A Dish 301 and two receivers will be installed Mon. a.m. Currently, I have a MSNTV PM #976 Plus Box hooked up to the TV thru the vcr. Will I be able to keep that same setup with the new system? If not, please advise me on how to change it and still be able to go thru the vcr.
I know next to nothing about electronics, so I would appreciate any help you can give me. I live in smalltown USA, and the gentlemen that will be doing the installation doesn't have a clue about MSNTV. Thanking you in advance!

How large is your TV? Does your TV have S-video input? More than 1?

I have a 25' Magnavox, without the s-video input.

Does your Magnavox have an RCA connector? (small holes, like your stereo or the smaller sets of connectors on your VCR)

On the the back of the tv there is a yellow video, white & red audio plugins that are not being used since I'm plugged into the vcr.

The Webtv will look much better if you run those cables from your MSNTV box to the TV. You will need to change your TV to the video mode while using your browser. To avoid confusion, you can run your sat receiver to your VCR using the Antenna in and out on your VCR to your TV. When watching Video tape--Satellite off, TV on channel 3/or4 depending on your set up. When watching Satellite---VCR off or on channel 3/or4 and TV on 3/or4.

If your old hookup had a cable box then your hookup with the satellite receiver will be exactly the same. Either way you can hook it up this way. Hook up the Web TV box between the satellite receiver & the TV. You will run the RCA/AUDIO/VIDEO cables from the outputs on the rear of the satellite receiver to the input jacks (holes) Red & White = Left & Right, audio Yellow = Video of the Web TV Plus Box. Then you can keep the rest of the hook up to your TV the same way.
