View Full Version : Request for a Brand New 721 Feature
I routinely record some of my favorite TV shows from the 721 to a Panasonic DVD recorder.
One of the things that I like to do is display and record the info screen (i.e. pauss the show and hit the info button) for about 5 seconds at the beginning of a recording. This gives a cleaner description screen than the PVR description screen. However, I have found that, on some TV's, the info screen does not completely cover the edges of the broadcast image.
My request is simple - extend all 4 edges of the info screen to completely cover the broadcast image.

It already does, at least on mine.

How about a play list? That is what I want. I have tons of kids shows recorded that are short and would like to string them together for my kids so I do not have to keep going in and start the next one once one has ended! Drives me insaine.
Seems like a simple request.
Dennis,
On some of my TV's the info screen does appear to completely cover the broadcast image; on some it doesn't. It all depends on the picture tube, shadow mask, age of the TV, etc. On a PC or LCD display, it is really evident that the info screen does not completely cover the underlying image.
HighPost, I couldn't agree more with your request. It's #1 on my list, too. To be able to build a playlist would enable one to accomodate the kids, allow one the fun of building his or her own "marathon" of shows (and then just kicking back or doing something else while the shows play in the background), and even help the process of archiving to VHS. Any chance that you're listening out there, Dish? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the 721 -- but to me, the lack of a playlist feature seems like an oversight.

Of course mandatory with the playlist is a system menu toggle to disable the flashing clock when a show begins to record. That would ruin any recording.

I think it is possible to do though.

There already is an option to turn the clock off:
Preferences - View Preferences - Timer ICon Popup

Then I would call it a bug fix rather than a feature request, because the feature is already there, it just doesn't work right.
