2:35am CNN crew shoots their way out of Tikrit

Bret Sadler and his crew are right now trying to get out of Tikrit after having driven into the town. They ran a check point and took incoming fire, which CNN's armed gaurd returned with his sub-machine gun. They are now involved in a running gun battle down the road with other cars.

    Yet another example of CNN creating the news instead of simply reporting it. :P

    I wonder if they will mosey around like tough guys now and constantly refer to how they had to fight in the Iraqi War too.

Exactly, they should stick to the Fox News model of letting others create the news, and then simply misinterpret, misrepresent and embellish upon it to their own ends.

The CNN deal was folly in quest of the “big story”, too the extreme. The flawed vetting process as to whether the town was safe to enter was broadcast live over the course of a couple hours, and it was plain to see it was driven by Brent Saddler’s myopic drive to be “the first on the scene”.
