NHL players wearing helmets

I know that Craig MacTavish was the last player to regularly not wear a helmet during play, , but was he the last player eligible to not wear a helmet?

Yeah, he played back when there wasn't a rule, so he was allowed to not have to wear it. The rule made it mandatory for new players to wear them, and with all the other vets like him that chose to wear one, he became the last.
