Another problem with locals

We called the CSR about the locals, and said that he did not recommend getting them because of spotbeam signals being inferior. But when i checked the signal on spotbeam 2, it came in as a 81, where 4 of the sioux falls locals are at. What i think he meant is getting good reception from 148. Are you required to get an additional dish just to get locals?

Depending on the market, you need a second dish to get some of the locals, but Dish will provide it free.

I already know that, thanks. :) But he said something else about "spotbeam control" or something like that. And we already have 2 dishes on our house for out 4 reciever DHP.

Problem no more! I requested ONLY the channels from Echo8 since the other channel on the dish is another PBS affiliate, which we don't need (the dish we had to get for that was a HUGE 24in DISH). BTW, the PQ is great! Thanks.:)

Depending on where you are located, you may be in a fringe area for a spot beam. I've been meaning to post the report.

The CSR said that we only need the 24 inch dish if the locals come in OK, and the ones off Echo8 at 110 do. We are in the fringe area of the spotbeam coming from Echo2 at 148, which requires a larger dish.
