My 508 has lost all of its recordings. Guide first refused to work, would just go to the guide window, but would not let you move or view any program information.
I did a reset via pulling the smart card and that cleared that problem, but when I went to view a previously recorded item, all I got was the screen with the program information.
I could see the little arrow that usually is seen when a program starts, but nothing else. I had to hit stop to get out of the window though.
I decided to power off the unit for a couple of minutes - from button.
Turned it back on and instead of 28 recordings, I only had 8, unit shows 60hrs and 12 min left. Still couldn't view the remaining shows though. I unplugged the unit from the wall, waited and restarted the unit, still no luck.
I tried deleting the remaining programs, but my time didn't change, still says 60 hr 12 min. I used a previously posted method to get to the memory dump screen and I am getting a message that the non-volatile memory is corrupted.
I have tried hard resets and I still get this message on the memory dump screen.
Anyone know how to clear the corruption?
If I need to call Dish, any idea what I should tell them is wrong, since I am not sure I am supposed to know how to check the memory dump screen?
