Optical Mouse-Freezes Computer.

I just bought an optical Mouse(Harma-brand name) to replace the regular scroll mouse on my computer. I am finding that sometimes the screen will freeze, especially when I am playing an audio file..then the computer will reboot without warning. This did not happen before I installed the new mouse. Otherwise the Optical Mouse works great. Any ideas about why this would happen and any fixes..(besides taking the Mouse back)

Are there updated drivers for the mouse? Sounds like a driver conflict to me.
