We lost power for ~1 second today. No signal on either DVRs when power came back. (one DVR was on UPS). I think the short power outage fried the SWM power module. It wasn't on a surge protector. :(

D* says it won't be until next Friday until they can send someone out. Is there anyway to at least get one tuner of one DVR going? I have the SWMdish (one wire) from the dish.

I tried one wire into HR20 with and without B-band. I also played with the setup (multiswitch versus SWM). No joy.

Thanks. (or more importantly, my wife thanks you.)

Have you pulled the power on the SWM power supply, waited a minute and plugged it back in?

Then restart the IRDs.

I wish I did.

I pulled the plug multiple times (including over one hour during trick-or-treating). One time for a couple minutes while on the phone with D*.

Every single electronic device I have is on a UPS here in Florida including my swm. I lose power from 1 to 5 seconds every day if it is not for minutes or hours. Ups units are cheap and worth every penny.

Good reason to have a UPS ;)

Many electronics do not like the rapid on/off that a quick power outages brings...even if there is no spike or surge so to speak (which also means that surge protectors do not help in this case).
