View Full Version : Slimline pointing question

I just repointed my Slimline 5 antenna using the dithering method in the instructions and my receiver signal strength readings. The results are very good. In the 90's for all satellites/transponders with two exceptions: 103s xpndr 23 = 88 and 103s xpndr 15 = 83 (where my HD locals are).

Is there any reason why I shouldn't fine tune now, peaking the signal strength for 103s, xpndr 15 only? If the tilt isn't perfect, I imagine it would affect the 99 pointing, but I could check this. And if the tilt is correct, it shouldn't mess up 99.

Has anyone tried this, or is it a bad move?

Thanks.

personally I'd leave it. if all 103c and 99c are in 90's I think you won't get it better.

The spotbeams can have some lower numbers, I have a very good alignment and had some that were in the 40s and 60s on the spot beams and they cause no issue at all as they are most likely distant spotbeams.
