Today is the day where my movers connection is supposed to occur. I used dishpointer.com to check LOS which it is good! (biggest issues I was going to run again). Unfortunately I have a situation where a roommate wants to keep Comcrap for some reason for his tv viewing but everyone else is cool with Directv. Unfortunately with the individual who wants to keep comcast (the Portland Trail Blazer issue again, I dislike the NBA) all the rooms will need new runs. All the room however are on the same wall as the dish will need to be installed to (good thing for the installer). Max run is 35 ft approx so it won't be super long. I am going to tip him BTW (I know we all have different ideas on this issues). I know what HSP installers get paid so I am think if I get a good job I will tip him and I will tell I will tip if he does a good job (some additional incentive I guess, it worked last time). My setup is now going to be 4 DVR (2 HR21s, 1 R22 and my old R15, which is barely used anymore). Wish me luck. I am 20 minutes into my install window (which means he will be here either in the next hour or at the end of the install window).

My install was a success. One room was difficult to get a good jack placement but we where able to make it work. I got a slimline 3 which was cool. He had to put the dish closer to the front of the house because of LOS which was not ideal but it works. All signals peaked. I did tip him because of 4 DVR (yes I know but if I have to pay the upgrade fees and $30 more means a DVR with DIRECTV on demand) installation. I had the old R15 (new software is actually quite good, I might keep it around when I buy a place next year, currently I am temporary somewhere to get to next year, plus I am only home 2 days a week because of my work, rant 555), new R22, and two HR21s. Only snafu was the every other transponder problem on the 103C which was because of a bad switch. It took him 5 and a half hours because of the bad switch and 4 fully two run DVRs. I have another thread I will post on SWM requirements because I have an answer now. I did tip him $100 because of the immensity of the job and he did a great job.
