Just thought I'd post some info about my install. I finally made the jump to DirecTV after being unable to rationalize the high price I was paying for cable, and the unbelievably great deals from DirecTV at this time.

Today the installer came (I live in a suburb of Portland, OR). He mentioned that all installs were now SWM in the area, and that all HD DVRs are the HR22s. That's all he had in the truck. So anyone living in this area should get this setup if they're doing HD. The installer was Ironwood.

After reading some horror stories about Ironwood, I was worried. But the guy who came knew his stuff, and did a good job with the install (as far as I can tell :) ). Didn't have to do any wall fishing from the attic, but did go under the house and up to the wall - didn't charge me, although I thought this sort of thing was extra.

So far, I really like this thing! First time I've had HD, or a DVR for that matter.

That's great news! I have an install scheduled for Friday morning in SE Portland with Ironwood and have been imagining all sorts of issues. I'm hoping and crossing my fingers that it goes through without a hitch and with a forcast of rain, I'm hoping they will still be able to install.

Hope everything goes well. So far, I'm loving the DirecTV and DVR.
