1 receiver ok the other no signal

Hi All,

Last night the 6000u lost the sat signal but the 4900 in the other room was ok. I then switched the cables and the 6000u is fine but the 4900 cannot get a sat signal. Checked all the cables and the connections are solid.

My setup is:

2 Dish 500 dishes
2 Sw21 switches
1 6000u
1 4900

Is one of the switches bad or what do you think the problem is?

Switch or cable.

TO test - get you a barrel connector (available at Radio Shack if you don't have them already). Take the suspected bad SW21 out and put the barrel connector on each feed from the dish to the feed going to the receiver (doing the dish feed one at a time, of course). If you get a signal on both feeds w/o the SW21 - the SW21 is bad and you need a replacement - you can confirm by swapping the SW21's around. If you don't get a signal, suspect the cables - but swap the SW21's just to be sure.

Scooper...Thanks for the info. Tested with barrel connector I had on hand and got the signal. Replaced SW21 and everything is back to normal.
