They are a good brand. Used to buy a lot of them and have a good relationship with them.

They actually make a lot of the smaller home APC units as well.

I've had a cyberpower saving my hr21 and hr10 for about 2 years now here in central FL. The model I use in my home theater is listed in my signature.

I have a couple Cyberpower CP600LCD's (340W/600VA)
Mine cost high-$50's. Prices vary a lot, so shopping can save.

I paid a few dollars extra to get this model vs. the alternatives because I like the idea of the LCD display that shows various status info.
According to their display, with just an HR21 running, they're good for about 50 minutes.
With both an HR21 and a TV (55" SXRD or 50" Plasma), they say they're good for about 10-12 minutes.
However, experience during power outages show that they last a bit longer than they claim.

I'm quite happy with them so far.
I have not had them long enough to comment about their longevity.

Hi All
It sounds like Cyberpower is OK. Frys in Dallas has them at a good price or I might wait for BLACK FRIDAY and fight the crowds.
Thanks for the info.

Cyberpower was the first UPS I ever purchased because it was on sale at the time. It worked fine for a long time until the capacity and old battery made it pretty much useless.

Belkin is getting out of the business it seems but I've had both of the units I bought from them fail so I wouldn't have bought another one anyway. They both failed in the same way too. They stopped recognizing power from the wall so would only run off the battery on the UPS outlets even tho the non UPS outlets worked just fine.

I picked up one at best buy about a month ago to replace the undersized APC that was running my main TV/HR 21. The free software that comes with the UPS isn't the best thing in the world, but it was good enough that I was able to see how many watts each of my components was pulling. Mine also uses a standard USB cable to connect to the PC compared to the weird USB-RG45 that the APC used (I keep kicking myself for throwing those away).

You can just buy a new battery for most units, fairly cheap usually as well. Batteries are only meant to last a few years.

Belkin UPS units are very cheap, not really good at all. Belkin overall is a lot of cheap crap, people just trust the Belkin name for some reason.
