Here is an interesting story,

We’ve received a couple of anonymous tips that DirectTV, a $24 billion satellite TV provider, may be entering the online TV wars with a new site called DirectTV Web On Demand. The site would compete with startups like Hulu, Joost, Fancast, Sling.com, etc.

Directv is gonna have to come up with another way for OnDemand stuff via the internet. These bandwidth caps that ISP's are instituting will scare people off from using the service. May not affect many people now, but when HD becomes standard, then what??

There has been a lot of talk about the bandwidth caps, and I don't know what all the ISP's may be planning, but Comcast's announce 250GB cap for monthly use, would require 50 HD 1080P movies as delivered by DirecTV to reach that level.
