Tried installing a new slimline dish with a SWM-5s using an Acutrac III meter. My LNB only has 1 "F" Connector. I tried powering up the dish with the Acutrac's meter and the current went from 198ma to 565ma when the meter shutdown to an "over current " condition. I then tried using the "loop-through" option using the power inserter and the same thing happened. Bad LNB, meter or "space time continuum." ? No shorts in any cables or connectors. Called the people who sold me the dish and they said that "possibly" my meter wasn't capable for "single wire mode" operation?

belive the prefered way is to set it up dish>splitter>PI, and run meter off splitter..

You must use a high-frequency cable splitter (5-2250 Mhz) that is power-passing on one leg only. The power inserter gets attached to the power-passing leg, and the meter to the non-power-passing leg. The combined output goes to the LNB.

The antenna did come with that for the various IRD receivers but when the Acutrac said just connect it to the antenna.....Well I believed them and I was going to try to do that but the sun was setting, I was cold and it was starting to rain and I had been on the roof for about 1 hour sooooooo.. Will give this a try this weekend. Thanks.
