View Full Version : NFL Sunday Ticket?
Does anyone know when DTV will come out with the pricing package for the 2003 season?
Thanks. :hi:

Its out already...if your a new sub OR are just now wanting to sub to the ST...its $199.00.....Divide that by 4 and you get the price of the ST with the 4-pay option.
What if you are already a subscriber to the Sunday Ticket? I have been a Sub for two years.

Then you're all set. The automatic renewal price, IIRC, is $179. Yeah, it's up $40 from last year, but compared to the early bird price, I'll take it.
Can't wait for the NFL season to start. Am entrenched in NFL Europe right now.

Why not just subcribe to la or ny locals and get all the good games at a mere pittance?

Uh, that won't work for those fans who want to watch specific / their favorite teams.
For instance, if one does get the NY/LA locals, I highly doubt a Denver Broncos fan will get to see every single game on the NY locals, nor would a Chicago Bears fan get to see all those games on the LA local affiliate, or vise-versa.
Nice thought for the casual fan, but not for specific fans of out-of-market teams.

WOOO....HOOOOO, But you can't get NFL ST.
Thats my point ..why overpay for abunch of games you may never watch when you can get a locals package for considerbly less (la0 that will show most of the good nfl game..this works real well when you live in the ny dma and are stuck watching jets and giants all the time

UMMM...People buy ST because they like to watch multiple games, obviously there are people who like the variety of games on ST. You can't get on a locals package.

There are many people who follow a certain team from another city and will gladly pay $199 per year to watch all of their games. The other fifteen games each Sunday are just a bonus. One of my employees has followed the Tampa Bay Bucs for years and considers paying for NFLST to be well worth the money. He was able to watch every one of their games last season. In our area, we get to watch the Denver Broncos (AFC) and the SF 49'ers (NFC) every week, and while they are not bad teams, it's nice to see other teams as well. While I'm not a big football fan, for those that are, NFLST is a bargain.

Again, that's not the point. Many NFLST subs don't want to get "just the good games." The so-called "good games" will already be scheduled for national TV coverage anyway.
One man's "great game" of Arizona vs. Washington may not equal the network's preferrence of a Philadelphia/SF 'Niners nat'l broadcast-worthy game. With NFL ST, you get all the games, regardless of what the networks think you should want to watch.
You just answered your own question. Like platinum says, some folks like to get ALL the games. It's a small price to pay, really. Plus, with DirecTV, I can't get Chicago locals due to spot beam issues. The same is true of Dish Network as well, I believe.

no chicago not on a spot beam with dish network..its one of 5 areas that are availble nationally..with dish you can assemble a "poor mans" season ticket at just a fraction of the cost..you can hav your locals with 2 out of market fox and cbs stations at a fraction of what nfl season ticket costs( if you can get waivers)..(in nj thats not a problem)..thats what my point really was..I dont think you can do the same thing with direct tv
Well, you can get NY and LA cheaper on DirecTV than on DISH.

So you're saying if I signed up for Dish Network here in Jacksonville, I could receive Chicago local channels?
Can someone confirm this?

Let's get back to NFL ST. I like to watch as many games as possible on every Sunday during the season. If 3 games go into overtime, I can switch between games. Last year I saw a lot of overtime games and saw the conclusion to each game.
I didn't have to wait to watch ESPN to see the Hi-lights!!
