NFL Network Channel Not Purchased???

I have been watching the NFL Network since i got home. At 5 p.m. Central time it just went out and a message at the bottom of my screen says "Channel Not Purchased" What the heck is going on? I'm not in Browns or Broncos territory at all.

Between exactly 10 and 10:03 PM CT,the (721) message has popped up 3 times here.
We haven't had the issue for the entire game,and now it gets inside of 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

happened at top of each hour 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 so i watched the game on channel 104 the sports mix....went back to channel 212 about 2 minutes later & was fixed.

Because cable rarely deals with "Authorization" issues like D* does, or not that I have seen.

It probably happens on E* too, I am thinking its one of those "nature of the beast" type of things that comes along with having DBS.

Sheesh, I thought it was my box messing up. i was so mad I smacked around the poor little HR20 a bit.

I started recording the game at 8 and left to walk the dog. When we came back, my box was locked up and wouldn't boot after several resets. When I finally got it running again 30 minutes later, I looked back at what I had recorded and there was a "looking for authorized content" message during the recording and then came the lockup. Then the channel went out during the last 5 minutes of the game, but thankfully there was no lockup this time.

you're correct. It wouldn't be happening with Comcast. They don't carry the NFL Network.

No kidding. I live in South Carolina and don't subscribe to Sunday ticket, and so when I DO get to see them...this is what we get?

you're correct. It wouldn't be happening with Comcast. They don't carry the NFL Network.

Comcast in my area does, they carry it as part of their "sports pack" I believe.

A response I got from D* last night said:

"I'm sorry to hear about the NFL Networks programming interruptions. While we have received reports from a few of our customers regarding the intermittent interruptions, let me assure you that our technicians are currently investigating what may have caused it in order for us to see how we can prevent the same thing from happening again."

I doubt we'll ever hear one way or the other if they found/fixed whatever was causing the problem.

It was not just DirecTV. Dish also had problems.

some cable systems are not paying for games on NFL NETWORK so maybe that some how got on to the Direct tv and dish feed.
