Not Authorized at the end of the Football Game

I tuned to NFL-HD at 11pm and it said I wasn't authorized. WTF? I then tuned in again at 11:15 and now it works. :confused:

It only went black for less than a minute...2 or 3 times. No reboot needed.

BTW, the best course of action for a channel not authorized error would be to go to your account online and reauthorize...or call the 800 number and do the same. Reboot is a last resort solution.

Yep, although I was not watching the game, it was on. Just went unauthorized at 2300 Eastern. then about 7 minutes later it was back.

The 'unauthorized' actually happened to me also briefly at the beginning of the recording, as well as towards the end which everyone is reporting.

I called and got through to D* tech support after being on hold for 15 minutes only to be told "our engineers are aware of the problem and working on it". It was 10 Central with maybe 10 minutes left in the game. I told her since the problem happens only at the top of the hour that their "fix" was going to be useless for this game.

Thanks a lot D*. It isn't bad enough that the Browns late-game defense is non-existant, but you make me just through hoops to watch it. :rolleyes:

I had the same problem with the NFLHD channel. It was 8:00 PM Pacific time when I got the unauthorized message. I turn to the NFL SD channel and it was working so I watched the rest of the game on the standard definition channel. After the game was over, I check and the HD channel was up and running.

I just wanted to add my two cents.

This also happened to me at 8pm PST. I was able to get it working again by switching away to another channel (my second tuner was locked to a channel doing a record starting at 8pm) and then switching back. This happened a few times during the course of 5 minutes or so, each time requiring me to change the relevant tuner to some other channel and back. At no time did I reboot or reset or reauthorize anything.

We have been having this problem with NHLCI for years. A couple of weeks ago, they cut the feed during a penalty shot with .7 seconds left that might have tied the game (it didn't). A week later, they cut the feed with a minute left in a 2-2 game that went to OT. Drives me nuts. I hold my breath in the last minute of a game, not just because it is exciting, but you never know when the screen will switch to "earching for authorized content..."

Same here.
It was like they were screwing with us. I picked up the phone to call to re-authorize and then it would come on again. So I'd hang up and watch some more. It did it 3 times here. I went ahead and reauthorized it after the third 721 message. I guess with the way the Browns played I should have hoped it stayed off! 3rd & one, 2 time outs and no rush attempts to move the chains? Romeo, Romeo whefore art thou brain?

Happened to me as well. I certainly would not go through a reboot process since all other channels were fine, so it seemed to be a 212 problem. Came back on, went off again, came back on. Glitches happen.
