6 Mo Spec Discount ????

A month or two ago, I sent an email to D* (via the website) to ask about my commitment.

Within 2 days, I get a call at home asking how my communication went. When I said "fine," the D* rep "offered" me $5 off each month for the next three months.

I noticed today a "6 Mo Spec Discount" on my online statement.

While I am certainly not complaining, can someone tell me what prompted this credit?
