I had the DPD2 setup and everything was good. I had DirecTV upgrade the DVR to an HD one. When I came home the instillation was done and the tech could not figure out how to get the DPD2 to work again. I don't think it will since the DVR does not have UHF connection.

Can I get this to work or is there something else I should try? Basically, I want the TV in one room to see exactly what the other tv is watching.

Please help.

Thanks.

I believe you are talking about the Holland DPD2 diplexers?

To diplex with HD receivers you need to move the BBC module before any of the diplexing takes place. All diplexing has to be between the BBC and receiver then as well.

Folks, I know it's been a while, but I can figure this out.

To recap, I have a directv HR22 HD DVR. The link below shows the back of the receiver. I want to be able to watch tv in any room (3 more tvs all coaxial output) in my house.

I have 2 holland DPD2 ( I used these when I had a non HD directv dvr) see below.

1) Is it possible for me to watch tv (I know it will be the same channel and I am fine with that) anywhere in my house and do I have everything I need to make this happen?

Thanks in advance.

Robert

I fixed the links (you don't have enough posts yet).

You will need to purchase a RF modulator (I got a Philips one for <$20 at Walmart), connect it to the S-video and red/white audio outputs of the DVR and it should work just as your old setup, but you will also need to place your BBC before the diplexer at the dish end (you will probably need a barrel connector and short jumper to do this). The BBCs cannot be exposed to the weather.

Bob,

Thanks for the help. I went to WalMart, hooked up the Modulator and bammo I got the other tv to work.

Your comment seemed a little complex for me: "also need to place your BBC before the diplexer at the dish end (you will probably need a barrel connector and short jumper to do this). The BBCs cannot be exposed to the weather."

When I took the coaxial cable and plugged it directly into another tv, the signal looked perfect. But when I used a multiswitch (Zinwell Sam 3402) the tv's picture don't look as sharp; they look a little fuzzy. Is there a multiswitch I should look into?

Thanks.

Robert
