Since we moved I've had only two 771 instances that went away after a RBR. Today was the second instance, so I looked at the signal strengths for the first time. Everything looks normal for all of the other sats, 80s-90s, except for 99c (both tuners have the same readings):

99c:
42 54 47 59 53 56 50 58
47 58 51 58 51 60 -- --

The install was done at the beginning of Sept and we have the protection plan. The dish is mounted on the fascia of the roof. No trees blocking LOS, it's cloudy today but no wind.
Should I call dtv to schedule a realignment?

Yes, those are too low to be reliable.

The strange thing is that when I was getting 771s none of the channels (http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=1191863&postcount=2)I flipped through were on 99c. I checked HD locals and channels on 103c (231,280, and 607). ESPN HD right now looks fine too . I'm thinking my 771s are due to buggy software. I've read a few posts where other people have 771s that go away after a RBR too. If only I had a dtv firmware code debugger, lol.

Regardless of whether or not it's "buggy software", those 99º readings are way too low. They should be up in the 80-90s. Have your dish realigned first before concluding that it's a software isse.
