721 woes

[oxymoron]

New to DISH and bought a 721 as one of my irds. Read all sorts of posts on here about problems with them but never the problem i get. Here is my problem(s)

Everything seems to work ok then for unknown reasons the picture goes black. I get the channel titles but no pic or sound. At first i thought it tunes to the aux front inputs so i locked them out, but no luck. usually a simple power off + on fixes it, other times u need to pull the card and reboot then works ok for awhile. I have no idea what triggers the lose of video o sound


Anyone here of this?

I've seen that too, always only on a single tuner...

It goes away after awhile...

Never seen it happen to something recorded...

Hi oxymoron, Since you are new, you probably don't know that you can reboot your 721 (hopefully fixing whatever problem you are currently having) by holding in the power button (on the front panel of your 721) for about 8 seconds. This keeps you from having to pull the card too often.
