According to the EPG and the promo after Enterprise, right before TZ, claimed last nights episode was supposed to be new. The promo included scenes for the two upcoming episodes, but the episode was one from last month with Martin Luther King's assassination and How Much Do You Love your Kid. What gives??? I was looking forward to a new episode, but it was a riot watching How Much Do You Love your Kid, again.

Tonight they are airing a remake of "Eye of the Beholder", please post what you think about it. Supposedly they have a new surprise ending???

Yeah the ending is a little different then the orginal. Usually I praise the new series on everything for updating ideas from the '60's but, this Eye of the Beholder was boring. The faces were distorted, instead of the pig masks. I liked what they did with Maple Street a lot better.

The idea of making "Maple Street" paranoia about Terrorists was very astute.

But on "Eye" besides changing the faces, what else did they change? The commerical sounded like something earthshattering would be revealed???

It's been a long time since I saw the original, but at the end was there an 'ugly' person to take the woman to other people who are just like her? Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else that was changed besides adding monitors with the leader preaching about conformity.

The original was far, far better, including the makeup or the 'normal' people. Also, the remake is testiment to the advantage of how black and white over color can add dramatic impact and tension.
