Those shows aren't in HD because they either aren't being recorded in HD or because they aren't being broadcast in HD. Here in raleigh nc CBS's local news channel is in HD (WRAL). However CBS still has other programming on the network that isn't HD. Doesn't have anything to do with DirecTV.

First, make sure you are watching (and RECORDING) the HD version of the channel and not the SD version. The HD version will be listed first in the guide and will use the channel's call letters. The SD version will be a 2-digit abbreviation for your DMA, followed by the channel number (maybe "DY4" or "DA36"). Any old Series Links will have to be deleted and recreated to point to the HD channel.

The other possibility is that there's still some issue with the feed from the local channel to DirecTV, forcing DirecTV to default back to the SD feed. If so, expect it to be resolved in the next couple of weeks. It isn't unusual for there to be some technical problems when a new local comes on-line, but they usually get worked out pretty fast.

I'm in Preble Co. I've been receiving CBS's HD renderings, CSI and others, from day one. All five of the Dayton locals look fantastic. You probably need to reprogram your locals as the previous poster suggested.

Go into your favorites and add the HD LIL to your list.

In your list, it should list the HD LIL like IIP said "The SD version will be a 2-digit abbreviation for your DMA, followed by the channel number (maybe "DY4" or "DA36"). Check that out
