View Full Version : Nashville, TN PBS (NPT) Signal Ghosting
Today my R22-200 recorded one of my local PBS channels in Nashville,TN NPT. I recorded the This Old House and Ask This Old House both shows had very bad ghosting as well as brightness/contrast issues. I checked now and as of 11/16/08 12:20 AM CT the PBS channel is STILL ghosting and issues with brightness/contrast. Does anyone else notice this(with in the Nashville, TN PBS Spot Beam) I've attached an image to show how bad it is. Also does anyone know who I need to e-mail or call about this?

For folks in the middle TN area that would like to contact WNPT,here is an e-mail address to contact Steve Sonnenblick.
He is the Chief Engineer for Nashville's PBS affiliate, channel 8.

we had the same problem here in Seattle with PBS, I sent Email after Email they knew the problems but nobody wanted to move. Until the day they switched from analog to digital in their facilities (See comments below and links)
Well you can still contact your local PBS and Directv, but I think you will lose your time, but still worth the try.
The only thing for you now is just wait, when I say wait I mean that they switch from analog to digital in the Directv/ Dish facilities in your area.
But according to the PDF they already switched the signals from analog to digital at the facilities. Well maybe they didn't do it for PBS, which is why you have ghosting pictures.
I don't think the problem is related to your Tv or your dish, or your receiver(s)

In one of the other threads it was noted that some of the PBS locals don't yet have a digital subchannel with the same programming as analog. In that case Directv temporarily switched back to the analog feed.
