I just had an upgrade installation earlier this week. I now have three (3) HR22-100 DVR receivers. I want to hardwire them to my home network. I have a router with one (1) available port. I note the HR22-100 has two (2) Ethernet ports. Can I hardwire the first HR22-100 DVR (using the top Ethernet port) to the vacant port on my router, daisy chain the first HR22 to the second (from the bottom port on HR22 #1 to the top port on HR22 #2) and then the second to the third (using the bottom port on HR22 #2 to the top port on HR22 #3)?

The ports are actually network switches and can easily pass-through to the next device. I don't know anyone that's connecting them two-deep like you propose, but it shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

Those ports act just like "hubs" or "repeaters" where they simply echo all data on all ports/cables, unlike a switch where each port carries only the data destined for the MAC address at the other end. If you are downloading VOD to all three receivers at the same time, or (once MRV is implemented), sharing multiple recordings across DVR's, you could see some network contention. In that case, you might consider investing in another switch. They are fairly inexpensive these days (around $20 for a 4-port).
